| Additional image processing | This represents my fourth or fifth attempt on this object. I consider this object to be rather difficult and was very pleased this time with the results. There was absolutely no light pollution at the chosen site. It should be noted that the scanning process seemed to bring out more blue in the background stars than is evident when viewing the slide. The slide shows excellent contrast between the dark sky and the Crescent Nebula. The digitized version approaches the contrast level of the slide although it is hard to beat a slide. |
