There was also a big stack of wood chips on the dock.  The next morning, I was on the deck of the ship and commented to the Australian standing beside me that the "piper was interesting".  He proceeded to tell me that "Piper is made from the wood chips they have stacked there..."

Tasman Bridge.  Some years ago, a ship hit the bridge and dropped a span.  People were killed.  The captain made himself rather unpopular when he said "I've hit bridges before and none of them fell down!"

Warning to aborigines.  They apparently have a problem when confronted with recordings of people who are dead.  (Probably makes it difficult to teach them history?  I wonder if they are willing to view a recording of Winston Churchill for example?)  I am always puzzled by such things...

I wondered if a "floodway" was the road you were supposed to take during a flood?  Finally figured out that it marks where the water crosses the road.  (Here in Arizona, we say "Dip - Do not cross when flooded")

Southern Cross and Alpha Centauri. The nearest star to the sun - 4.4 light-years away - That's just 5.8 trillion miles away...   (bright star near bottom of sky.)
Actually, Alpha Centauri and Proxima Centauri are a double-star system.  So Proxima is a tiny bit closer but not by much.  Proxima is much dimmer than Alpha.

A "Road Train".  We have truckers songs in the US about "18 wheelers", trucks with 18 wheels.  To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee "Tha's not a truck, THIS is a truck."  This one only has 62 wheels!  Count-em!  Some have more!
